Sustainability at the Heart of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream’s Operations
We’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable future. We look after our planet and people.
In practice, this means we’re constantly exploring new and innovative ways to improve our sustainability, from energy efficiency to the environmental impact of ingredients we source.
Energy Efficient Ice Cream Production
Our production facilities are designed for energy efficiency, minimising emissions associated with refrigeration and other areas of the manufacturing process.
20% of our power is generated by on-site solar panels. 96% of electricity purchased is from renewable sources.
Reducing Emissions
Reduction of emissions from our operation is a major priority at Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. By partnering with other local companies and farmers, we can reduce indirect emissions associated with our supply chain.
We’re proud to source all our milk from a herd of Friesian cows milked less than 500 metres away, minimising transport emissions. 90% of our workforce live within 10 miles of the farm.
We’re always striving to reduce waste, and source the most environmentally friendly, biodegradable packaging options available.
Future Goals
Currently, 20% of our workforce drive EVs and a further 20% cycle to work. By 2030, we are aiming to convert our fleet of vans to alternatively fuelled vehicles.
Alongside our AA BRC Accreditation, we aim to become a B Corp certified business in the near future.
